Our History

Sherington Pre-School was established over 40 years ago and is a traditional, family focused pre-school in a village location. We are proud to be a community-based organisation, and enjoy close links with local schools and the wider community, taking part in many local events throughout the year.

What makes our pre-school different

Smaller than average adult to child ratios allow our children to develop at their own pace, with the support of a designated keyperson. Thanks to these ratios we can tailor activities to suit the individual interests and needs of each of our children.

We also pride ourselves on forming excellent relationships with parents and always work in partnership with families to ensure that the children are fully supported through these important years.

Above all else, we offer a stimulating, caring and safe environment where children learn through play and develop friendships and skills that allow them to fully enjoy their time at preschool, prepare them for school and life beyond.

The Early Years Foundation Stage

EYFS sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
